Demographics in Skyrattler
Skyrattler is a southwest Edmonton neighbourhood in the Kaskitayo area with a population of approximately 2,100 residents. It has a diverse demographic profile, with a large working-age population and a balanced mix of adults, families and seniors. According to 2021 Census data, about 70% of residents are between ages 15 and 64, while approximately 15% are 65 or older. Skyrattler is also a relatively multicultural community, with representing about 32% of the population. Its location near Blackmud Creek, parks, schools and major transportation routes.

Real estate in Skyrattler is distinctive because the it is heavily weighted toward apartments, row housing and other attached properties rather than traditional detached homes. The City of Edmonton notes that much of the row housing and low-rise apartment development was built in the late 1970s, followed by single-detached homes during the 1980s. In the 2021 Census, approximately 69% of occupied dwellings were apartments in buildings of fewer than five storeys, while about 16% were houses.
