MacEwan real estate consist of newer properties. These affordable far south west properties are poular with several first-time buyers which allow more house style choices especially with duplexes. It is also another popular place to live for retirees in a newer bungalows near the ravine. A large portion of MacEwan homes for sale are condominiums with heated underground parkades. MacEwan house prices are very reasonable and offer buyers lots of choices. The Victory Christian Centre occupies a significant portion of Heritage Valley land in MacEwan.

MacEwan was named after John Walter Grant MacEwan, who served as the lieutenant governor of Albert from 1966 until his death in 1974. MacEwan has a population of just over 5,600 people. Development plans for the area was approved in 2001, and real estate construction began almost immediately. MacEwan homes for sale follow the northern border of the Heritage Valley, and is one of 14 neighbourhoods included in the area.

The only school located in MacEwan is Victory Christian School, a Catholic school that offers schooling for children from Kindergarten to Grade 12. It strives to provide students with a Christ-centered education that empowers them to become leaders. The closest public elementary school is George P. Nicholson School in Twin Brooks.
