Kensington homes for sale are in a mature central northwest Edmonton community located south of Castle Downs. It was annexed to the city in 1913 during a real estate boom but most developments didn't occur until the 1950s. Kensington has a high proportion of residents older than 55, most of whom have lived here for many years. The name for this community was likely taken from the Kensington area of London, England. There are several nearby amenities in Kensington including Zion Baptist Church, Joe's Tap House and Grill, and World Mission Society Church of God. Today, most Kensington houses are still bungalows constructed in the 1960's. Most of these Kensington houses feature upgrades including shingles, furnaces and kitchens and bathrooms.
