Beverly Heights is a mature community in northeast Edmonton, originally part of the Town of Beverly, named from Yorkshire England. Beginning as a small mining community, increasing the population when rich coal seams that lay beneath the soil were discovered and coal mining began, and in 1882 the village was incorporated as a town in 1914 and was amalgamated in 1961. Real estate development ranges in age from as early as 1910 to new construction in 2016. There are no condominiums in this part of the Beverly area. Beverly Heights homes were built in the decade leading up to amalgamation. Today, these houses are great investments for buyers and investors with several of these bungalows with basement suites.
