About West Edmonton  Properties

West Edmonton real estate is divided into eight main areas. Starter properties, townhouses and smaller more affordable west Edmonton homes for sale are located by Callingwood and West Edmonton Mall. The bungalow style properties here are priced perfectly for first time buyers! 

The most expensive real estate and luxury homes are located in Wolf Willow, Gariepy, and Glenora districts. Properties range from hidden country residents to executive new builds. Wolf Willow is a mature sought-after, upper-scale area with real estate listings nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city. These west end dwellings are nestled among the river valleys and offer beautiful scenery all year.

Other west Edmonton vacinities include Meadowlark, which is currently redeveloping from mature 1950's- 1960's bungalows, infill properties and larger modern houses. Here you will find large backyards with back alley access. This is a perfect place to build garden and garage suites.

Lewis Estates is best known for its retirement condominiums and newer bungalows by the golf course. Just to the west of Lewis Estates is Winterburn which offers newer west Edmonton homes for sale. The residential construction of Winterburn took off during Alberta's last real estate boom and was focused on buyers who wanted homes with the option to add a basement suite and side entrances 

Neighborhood Features in West Edmonton

West Edmonton is nestled between the River Valley, Whitemud and Anthony Henday Drive. Most of these neighborhoods are a short communte to all amenities.

Schools in west Edmonton are mostly a mix of both public and catholic kindegarden to high schools. Plus vocational educatial institutes - CDI College, Anderson Career Training, Excel Academy. If you have young children, west Edmonton is a great place to purchase a home for schools within close proximaty to your house.

Nearby amenities include the Misericordia Hospital, Rivercree Casino Resort,Golf courses, Costco, Superstore, public YMCA's, professional clinics and of course, the famous West Edmonton Shopping Mall.
