Queen Alexandra homes for sale are situated by the desirable nightlife on Whyte Avenue, only a few minutes from the University. Over the last few years, a large portion of Queen Alexandra's houses has been replaced with new builds and infill properties.

Queen Alexandra neighbourhood was originally a part of the town of Strathcona. It was incorporated in 1899. After WW11, single family detached houses were the dominant dwelling in Queen Alexandra. Over the years, this University community has been changing giving way to higher density housing such as condominiums and low-rise apartments. House prices in Queen Alexandra range vastly, yet still reasonable, to be so centrally located and beside Strathcona. It was named after the wife of King Edward VII. It isn’t exactly known when the neighbourhood was given this name, but it was likely around 1901, at the time of Edward’s ascension when Alexandra officially became queen.
