West Edmonton Houses & Homes

West Edmonton is, of course, best known for its large shopping Mall. Homes for sale in West Edmonton range vastly in price with the least expensive near the mall and the most expensive further south in the Lessard district. The highest turn over rate for west Edmonton houses and homes is in the Callingwood area which is also well known for the Farmers Market. West Edmonton is best known for the WEM - West Edmonton shopping mall and covers an area of about 5,300,000 square feet. It holds over 800 stores and services including nine attractions, two hotels and over 100 dining venues. Houses for sale near West Edmonton Mall are relatively inexpensive, built in the 1970s and make great revenue properties.


Located in far West Edmonton, Lewis Estates is well known for its fabulous golf course and Retirement Residence providing independent and assisted living. This part of West Edmonton is sometimes called "Lewis Farms". When houses were originally built in the 1990s, they were based on a retiring generation and feature several single-family bungalows. During our last real estate boom, this part of West Edmonton expanded dramatically and house construction was focused more on a younger, first-time professional type of buyer.


Callingwood, West Edmonton is a perfect place to purchase a home for first-time buyers with a colossal amount of affordable tow-storey and split level townhouses. It is also notorious for its annual farmers market which opens in May 2021 and run every Sunday from 10 am-3 pm and Wednesdays for the Mini-market from 12 pm-5 pm.


The Grange consists of only three communities - Hamptons, Granville and Glastonbury. When this west Edmonton community was first established, an encumbrance was registered against each lot to allow for the establishment of a neighbourhood homeowners association with a small HOA fee of $90 per year. Nearby amenities include a large strip mall, the Spirit West United Church, Costco Wholesale and the River Cree Resort and Casino.


If you live in the west end, you will be familiar with the Lessard district. Houses in this part of West Edmonton are middle-class homes situated between prestigious luxury properties in Wolf Willow and starter houses in Callingwood. These west Edmonton communities are perfectly located away from the busy shopping mall and moments to Anthony Henday Drive and our river valleys.


Next to Lessard, in the south part of West Edmonton is the Wolf Willow district which offers a 3.2-kilometre trail loop trail used for hiking, walking, trail running, and nature trips. Houses for Sale in Wolf Willow are West Edmonton's most expensive and executive properties. This area also includes Cameron Heights.


The oldest portion of West Edmonton is in the Meadowlark area, once known as the town of Jasper Place, where houses were built in the 1960s and cost less than $35,000 to purchase at that time. The majority of Meadowlark dwellings are 3 bedroom bungalows.
