Southeast Edmonton is divided into three areas by industrial parks and businesses. The furthest northern part of southeast Edmonton offers quick access to our downtown core and the hamlet of Sherwood Park. The prominent reason buyers choose to purchase their homes in this part of our municipality is access to the popular Mill Creek Ravine. These communities include Argyll, Avonmore, Hazeldean, King Edward Park and Ritchie.
Near the Mill Creek Ravine lies the Ottewell district best known for its spectacular scenery in Strathearn and La Cité Francophone school. These southeast Edmonton communities include Bonnie Doon, Cloverdale, Holyrood, Idylwylde, Kenilworth, Ottewell and Strathearn. Closer to the downtown core, several houses with scenic views along the river valley can be found in Capilano, Forest Heights, Fulton Place, Gold Bar and Terrace Heights in the Capilano area.
Mill Woods encompasses the largest portion of residential real estate. Mill Woods has a long history dating back to the 1800s when it was inhabited by the Papachase Indian reserve, then became part of a large agricultural segment known as Bruederfeld. Many settlers, mostly from Russia and Germany, arrived in the late 1800s to settle the area of Mill Woods. This part of southeast Edmonton consists of twenty-nine communities which include Bisset, Crawford Plains, Daly Grove, Ekota, Greenview, Hillview, Jackson Heights, Kameyosek, Kiniski Gardens, Lee Ridge, Menisa, Meyokumin, Meyonohk, Michaels Park, Minchau, Pollard Meadows, Richfield, Sakaw, Satoo, Tawa, Tipaskan, Tweddle Place and Weinlos.
New builds and houses currently under construction are located near the town of Beaumont in far southeast Edmonton in the Meadows. House values here are awesome and a great place to purchase single-family houses at reasonable prices. Meadows communities include Larkspur, Laurel, Maple, Silver Berry, Tamarack and Wild Rose.
Closer to South Edmonton Common, houses in the Ellerslie area is another great chose when buying real estate. The highest demand for homes in the Ellerslie area are in Summerside which offers residents a man-made beachfront lake. The most family-focused community is the Orchards where each holiday is communistically celebrated together. These neighbourhoods include Charlesworth, Decoteau, Ellerslie, Orchards, Summerside and Walker.
