Houses in Pleasantview

Pleasantview homes for sale in central southwest Edmonton are the original bungalow-style houses with just under half of the dwellings built during the sixties to newer elegant luxury properties. Pleasantview is next to Strathcona Junction bounded by 111 Street , 51 Avenue, west of Calgary Trail. Residential real estate Pleasantview in is changing quickly with new builds replacing the older dwellings. Originally, Pleasantview houses were built for an elite and executive clientele and have been a part of our city since 1914 long before the Southgate shopping Centre.

Pleasantview has been identified as Martin Estate on Google Maps is currently undergoing a regeneration. It offers larger than average lots sizes and many of these Pleasantview houses in the area are being upgraded or replaced. Pleasantview was not completed until after World War II when farmland was added to the town and divided into lots that were one half acre or a full acre in size. These lots were then sold under the Veterans Land act to the soldiers that were returning from the war. The Soldiers were buying land in Martin estates, which was the name for the neighbourhood at that time. About half the homes in Pleasantview are single-family detached homes and 20% of the buildings are apartments while row houses and duplexes make up the rest of the residential infrastructure.
