About Northwest Edmonton Properties

Northwest Edmonton real estate consists of a mix of war-time houses, infill properties, ample bungalows and new builds in the far north west. It touches the edge of our municipality and offers its residents many nearby amenities. Real estate in the northwest is divided into seven main districts.

Big Lake is the newest part of northwest Edmonton and is surrounded by mother nature. This is a very sought after district and houses in Big Lake sell quickly. There are currently only a few amenities in this part of northwest the with plans to build more schools and a small shopping district.

Newcastle is located in far north-central. These northwest Edmonton homes for sale, houses and condominiums are fairly new and this neighborhood allows its residents quick access to St. Albert and the Henday. It is a ten minute communte to CFB Garrison, making it a perfect place to live for our military members.

The Grovenor and Calder districts are in central northwest. There are a mix of war-time houses and bungalows. Over the last decade, many of the older houses are now being replaced with duplexes and skinny homes. The Palisades is also located in central northwest Edmonton. These dwellings are newer, more affordable properties.

Westmount is situated north west of the downtown core and is currently one of the best places for investments in the northwest. These homes are mature custom built by quality builders. Although they may be a bit dated, Westmount is still the best place in northwest Edmonton to buy with the current ongoing real estate revitalization. 

Castle Downs is a great place to find northwest Edmonton homes for sale if you have a large family. Real estate in Castle Downs was contructed during the 1970's and 1980's. These northwest Edmonton houses are affordable and many feature large bedrooms and big back yards.

Neighborhood Features in Northwest Edmonton

There are many neighborhood features in northwest Edmonton that combines suburban charm with modern amenities. For outdoor enthusiasts, it offers the Griesbach Community Gardens with a beautiful area with walking paths, gardens, and scenic ponds. As well as Coronation and Castle Downs Park with sports fields, a splash park, gym, an ice rink, and a library.

For indoor enthusiasts there is the Skyview shopping hub with big-box stores, local eateries, TELUS World of Science IMAX theatre and planetarium, the Alberta Aviation Museum and more.
