Newcastle Communities
Canossa is 15 minutes to the Canadian Armed Forces Base - Edmonton Garrison, also known as the Steele Barracks. Canossa, Newcastle homes for sale are middle-class single-family houses with a few of these back onto a lake featuring walkout basements, making them great for resale, especially for DND members.
Chambery is the furthest north community in Newcastle. This is another great place to buy real estate for our military members with a short commute to Canadian Armed Forces Base Garrison and great for resale for their next posting. It is named after the original Chambery Castle was founded in 1232 which served as the capital of the mountain Duchy of Savoy until the sixteenth century.
Elsinore situated near Newcastle is another favorite place to live for our DND military members. A few of these great Elsinore houses feature beautiful walkout basements. It takes its name after a famous European castle found in Denmark, which was made famous by Shakespeare's play Hamlet. This Dutch Renaissance-style castle was built between 1574 and 1584, and, after hosting a variety of uses over the centuries, was completely restored in the late 1920s.
Rapperswill is located in far northwest Edmonton near Newcastle, north of 167 Avenue, a 15-minute commute to CFB Garrison via Valour Avenue, great for our Canadian Armed Forces members, and walking distance to the Palisades strip mall and Walmart. Real Estate in Rapperswil consists of many duplexes, detached houses, and a few luxury properties with walkout basements backing onto the community lake.
Griesbach is unlike any other community in northwest Edmonton. It is bounded by 153 Avenue, 97 Street, Castle Downs Road, 137 Street, and was the original site of a former Canadian national defense facility, developed in the 1950s and housed our military personnel. Today, this highly sought-after community has completely been transformed with historically named streets, statues made of famous military members with a classic architectural guideline on all houses. It is named after Major-General William Antrobus Griesbach, who was a veteran of the Boer War and World War I, a practicing lawyer, and the cities youngest mayor. Houses prices in Griesbach real estate listings will vary, but keep in mind, with all of its amenities, this is one of the cities best luxury communities. You will not find the same house side by side and the builders must complete the front landscaping along with the mandatory front yard tree.
