Mill Woods Communities
North Mill Woods is a residential area in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada located in the southeast bounded by Whitemud Drive, 91 Street, 34 Street, and south of 28 Avenue. Nearby amenities for Mill Wood South include the Mill Woods Sports Park, Canadian Tire, and Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre. It is a five-minute west to major amenities at South Edmonton Common.
The development of Mill Woods began in the early 1970s and was one of the first areas of our city to move away from the grid system. Homes for sale in South Mill Woods are very affordable. The average price for a house in this part of the southeast is about $325,000.
Both Hillview and Greenview are situated near the Mill Woods golf course in the Woodvale District. It is bounded by 38 Avenue between 50 and 66 Street. These southeast Mill Woods homes for sale usually sell quite quickly. Tawa is in the heart of Mill Woods, next to the Grey Nuns Hospital in Mill Woods Town Centre. Tawa consists only of condominiums. There are no single-family detached houses.
Menisa, Satoo and Ekota form the Knottwood, South Mill Woods community. Menisa which names "berries" in the Cree language.It is bordered by Strathcona Industrial and 34 Avenue. Ekota is named for the Cree words translated to a special place. Ekota is a popular community among younger families with reasonable house prices and is near the Mill Woods Park. Satoo homes for sale feature several split-levels, bungalows, and smaller two-story houses in an attractive community.
In the Burnewood district, Jackson Heights was named after Annie May Jackson who was the first female police officer in the history of Canada. Kameyosek is located in the Lakewood district in Central Mill Woods between the Grey Nuns hospital the large Mill Woods Park. Kameyosek condos are comprised of residential houses and apartments. It is best known for St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church. Tipaskan is in the far west-central portion of Lakewood near the Strathcona Industrial along 91 Street and South Edmonton Common. Tipaskan properties were developed in the 1970s and 1980s with about forty percent being detached houses. Meyonohk is a convenient place to live with close proximity to South Edmonton Common, Costco, and the recreation Center. Meyonohk bungalows are great investments for people who choose to use public transit and enjoy backyards with mature landscaping.
Tweddle Place, Micheals Park, Richfield and Lee Ridge form the Millbourne, Mill Woods district. Lee Ridge is in the western portion next to the Millbourne Shopping Mall. These Millbourne houses were built prior to 1980. The focus of the Tweddle Place community is a multiple-purpose school and recreational site and the dwellings reflect a "compact development" in this northern part of Mill Woods where half of the residential real estate are detached houses, and the rest are townhouses and apartments.
Sakaw and Meyokumin are in the Millhurst district in South Mill Woods. Meyokumin houses are within walking distance to the public library and near the Grey Nuns hospital. Sakaw properties are in the most central south portion of Mill Woods and is bisected by a large community green space.
Wienlos, Bisset and Minchau are located in Ridgewood close to the Meadows. Bisset properties were constructed from 1965-1986 with an even residential split between houses and condominiums. There are a few duplexes in Bisset.
Crawford Plains is located in the furthest southeast Edmonton community in Southwood. Crawford Plains residential real estate listings are priced very well and many young families take advantage of these lower home costs to get into the real estate market. nearby Daly Grove dwellings are very affordable middle-class dwellings.
