McQueen Communities & Real Estate Prices

Britannia homes were built in the 1950s and are exclusively northwest single family houses. Britannia Youngstown was originally two different subdivisions within the Town of Jasper Place and became part of our city in 1964. It is great for real estate investors or first-time buyers in a mature, affordable community near McQueen. $$$

Canora homes are smaller single-family detached houses. This McQueen district was once part of the former town of Jasper Place. Real Estate development here began during the 1930s and continued into the eighties. Today, a considerable number of older Canora properties have been redeveloped, with duplexes and apartment northwest Edmonton condominiums. $$$

Grovenor homes feature 1949 charter houses to newer half duplexes to a few luxury properties with chef's kitchens. There is one apartment high rise on 144 street. This is an older McQueen community, originally called Westgrove. Grovenor residents have easy access to Westmount Mall, the downtown core, and the commercial services along Stony Plain Road. $$$$

High Park homes are located in the central northwest Edmonton between 156 street, 149 street. High Park houses and real estate listings are dominated by smaller bungalows that were built between the end of world war two and the 1970s. Several of these McQueen properties have recently been replaced by newer duplexes and infills. $$$

Mayfield homes are affordable properties built between 1955 - 1965. It is named in honor of Wop May, a World War One pilot and pioneer of civilian aviation. Mayfield offers a few house styles to choose from smaller basement-less bungalows to larger split-level homes. $$

McQueen homes were constructed between 1954 - 1956. It is named for the Reverend David George McQueen, who served 43 years as a minister at our First west Edmonton Presbyterian Church. Almost every McQueen property is a 1950s bungalow situated on oversized lots with back alley access. These northwest Edmonton bungalow-style dwellings usually have four to five bedrooms with a garage on a meticulously landscaped backyard which varies in size. $$$
